However, I did point in my previous review that Caulifla might not be the one, as there are a lot of dissimilarities between them. Not only in terms of looks or appearance, but also in their personality; while the one in the opening looked innocent, shy and unaware of her powers. Caulifla is the exact opposite, she is a savage, and is in a way overconfident instead.
Now, in the latest Dragon Ball Super Episode 89, the confusion has been cleared. Caulifla is not the Legendary Female Super Saiyan, and even though they don’t mention her name or put her on the spotlight in this episode. From the looks, we all were able to connect the dots and realize this shy Female Saiyan we got a glimpse of in this episode is the true Legendary Super Saiyan, but in this episode nothing is mentioned about her, not even her name.
But, thanks to the translations done by Herms, we do know her name is Kale, and we even have a short character description-
Always gets chewed out by Cabe for being too nervous. After Cabe tells her to unleash the anger in order to become a Super Saiyan, her pent-up stress takes her to a berserker state. Have incredible powers once she cuts lose.
As we all know, The Saiyans of Universe 6 despite being powerful didn’t know how to transform. It is implied Cabe is the first to be able to do that, thanks to Vegeta. It’s not like they were not powerful enough to go Super, in a matter of fact they are stronger by many folds than Namek saga Goku when he first got the form. It’s just that they were not pushed to that emotional level that triggers the transformation, and Vegeta did exactly that and was able to unlock the form for Cabe in just a single battle. Making it very clear that Cabe always had the potential!
The case is similar to Kale, except her potential is even higher and most importantly Unique. Once she gets pushed, she’ll attain an extremely powerful transformation, which is an homage to The legendary Super Saiyan Broly one of the most popular Dragon Ball Character ever, and as we know this legendary form is much superior than a traditional Super Saiyan transformation. Probable cons being, she might not be able to have full control over this power, especially if she just discovers it, but with time she might become one of the most dangerous warriors ever seen.
For now her effectiveness in the Battle Royal is still questionable, she will most likely do better than average, but she might not live up to our expectations. As you know the Battle Royal is more about strategy and technique than Power. On the other hand, this form is mainly about sheer power, and from what we know the mind also goes wild, also it doesn’t look like Kale is someone who has a record of training very hard. Thus, she might be 10 times stronger than someone like let’s for example say Master Roshi, and yet may lose to him. Because this is not a death battle, anyone who gets thrown out of the stage gets eliminated. A weaker opponent using battle intelligence and strategy can do that to someone many folds stronger than him. So I think she won’t really go too far in the battle, but it will be made very clear just how powerful she is. If it were up to me, I would make her grab 2 opponents and pop their head, getting disqualified in the process. Getting disqualified by killing someone would be a badass way to go for her.
By the way, about Caulifla, I think she will learn to go Super from Cabe, as she is also said have high potential, and was recommended by the squad leader. Besides, she only agreed to participate after Cabe flashed his power, so it’s good to know that Caulifla has desires to get stronger. Who knows she might turn out to be more effective in the battle royal.
Well, I like the character design of Caulifla, but I am just happy to know that the Legendary Saiyan is the shy one. That’s more like an interesting watch, everyone would not be taking her seriously, and then she’ll go big. Imagine if Roshi starts playing with her in the battle, and then she goes wild. I just have been imagining that moment ever since she was first shown, I bet many of you did too.
Kale did look a bit weird this episode, I guess since they were not going to introduce her, they didn’t pay too much attention on detailing her, for this episode. I am eagerly waiting to learn more about her, and also about Jiren who was being teased few episodes ago.
