To begin with, ill brief the episode and highlight some of my favorite moments, as well as major things to remember. Starting off the episode opens up with this weird presence of chakra shaped like a beast.
In the first episode of Boruto the chakra was shaped like a snake, and now it appears to be in the shape of a lion. Anyways, this evil presence seems to take control of someone who has hate, from what we can gather. Seeing as how it possessed Metal Lee in this weeks episode.
Moving on, the episode introduces us to Metal Lee. Boruto, Iwabe, Shikadai, Inojin, The Class Rep, and Metal Lee get into trouble and end up having to help fix the Hokage Stone Face. We learn that Metal Lee doesn’t do well under pressure when he gets nervous, and Shikadai scolds him for it.
We get a glance of howl if is inside the Nara household and we flash forward to the next day when things start to get more interesting. We notice Metal Lee again, but this time he is possessed by the same evil chakra. This is also the first time that Boruto now knows that he is the only one that can see it when Inojin confirms that he doesn’t know what Boruto is talking about. Same goes for Shikadai as well when Boruto asks the question of whether they can see what he sees or not.
We then have a clash of Boruto, Shikadai, and Inojin versus Metal Lee. We learn that Metal Lee can activate the 3rd or 4th gate of the 8 inner gates when he tries to escape from Shikadai’s Shadow paralysis jutsu.
Anyways, they defeat Metal and we are now in the Uzumaki residence. This is also the first time we see Boruto asking Hinata about the Byakugan and what it does, and what it can see. So we are getting hints that Boruto’s eye may be a variation of the Byakugan. Since he saw chakra of course.
Overall the episode was very entertaining as we got to see the perspectives of Boruto, Shikadai, and Metal all in this one episode. Learning more about the gen as well as getting to see how they interact with their parents.
