Okay, the reason I read the Episode 86 spoilers the last is because I already had covered that in my previous video. So, we actually got quite a lot of information here, we now know the plot outline, and have a basic idea as to the events that will take place up to May 6th or Episode 89!
Nothing, groundbreaking, I mean we already know the Universe 7 team, so it was expected for them to go and recruit these fighters one by one, but now we know how it’s going to happen.

After going through all the spoilers, overalll what I liked the most is the fact they are giving attention to each and every character who is going to participate in the  Battle Royal; because ever since the beginning of DBS, one thing that bothered me was the pacing. The speed was ungodly compared to the original Dragon Ball Z or even the Dragon Ball series.  They finished the arc, even before we ever got it into it. While they made the pacing a bit better in The Future Trunks arc, but I still felt it was kind of rushed. There could be a lot more epic moments, like they could have shown us more Vegeta-Trunks training sessions. As eventually that paid off big for Trunks, and he got Super Saiyan Rage Blue transformation. Anyways, now that we are in the Universal Survival Arc, they finally got the pacing right. They are really allowing us to emotionally invest in the story of this arc, it has been months since they declared the tournament that hyped the entire fandom, and now we know there’s at least more than another month to go before it starts. They are actually doing some of the things better than DBZ now, like giving human Z fighters a spotlight. What they did with Krillin in Episode 85 was amazing. Master Roshi had been inactive throughout entire DBZ, and now finally he is coming back. This is something I really appreciate because I always loved seeing him fight back in the Dragon Ball days, one of the most skilled character right?
Anyways, back to the spoilers topic, So Android 17 is actually going to get 2 episodes centered around him. He will initially refuse the proposal, but once Goku teams up with him to fight the poachers, he will you know kind of see the goodness, and also maybe feel pumped up by the idea of fighting, as he also has a heart of a warrior.
Then, Episode 88 is going to be an important one, because from this episode we will get an idea as to just how impactful Gohan is going to be in this tournament. Gohan for long has not been the Gohan we love, but this time around something is different about him. The Fighting desire that was sleeping somewhere deep within him finally woke up, as we see him stating during the Zen Exhibition. That he is really feeling pumped up to fight, maybe because his Saiyan Blood is finally kicking in, and we all know Gohan has the highest dormant potential which is even mention earlier on in DBS by Vegeta.
So, this could potentially be the battle were Gohan really rules it, and we also had a promotional material where it was stated that Gohan might play a role similar to what he did back in the Cell saga. Also, in this arc due to Bulma being pregnant Vegeta missed out a lot of training, so maybe they could make Gohan the 2nd Guy this time, and justify it by saying Vegeta got rusty.

Now, he is training with Piccolo. Logically speaking, Piccolo should be doing better than Gohan in the Tournament, as the battle royal has more to do with strategy and techniques than raw power. Piccolo is decently powerful, but has very high combat intelligence. So, I personally am more interested to find out if Piccolo could achieve something, because I have an uncommon perspective of this. I think like we already have 2 saiyans playing lead role.
Who can bring more variety to the table?
And the answer is of course Piccolo. I am not saying it’s going to happen, but if it was up to me, I would without a doubt give Piccolo a huge power boost.  Much like how he temporarily surpassed everyone in Cell Saga. Also, I was expecting to see Piccolo spar with 17 a bit, hopefully we will get that too.
Now, there’s one more thing about the training, it’s a legit question if Gohan can benefit from Piccolo’s training at all now, but you have to take in consideration that there’s only 38 hours or so till the tournament starts. For someone like Gohan, I think Piccolo was the best choice. Even if Gohan wants to train with Whis that has to be saved for another occasion if we want him to gain something from it.
Another reason could be the Writers don’t want Gohan to take the same path as Goku and Vegeta. Honestly, another fighter going Super Saiyan Blue would just be repetitive, so maybe they want Gohan to power up with a different transfromation.
We do actually have a hint of that, if you take a look at this training scene from the Opening, we see a purplish electric sparkle, and it’s not of any aura that we know off. So, Gohan might actually go on to achieve a new form. If he does get one what kind of form would you like to see? Let me know in the comments.
Episode 89 got me interested more than the rest in these spoilers, as we are finally going to see Tien get some spotlight. It has been forever since he got the spotlight, even Krillin appears more than him. So, what I understand he has opened martial arts academy of his own, like the Turtle or the Shen school. This is interesting because it means in the tournament they are going to be bring some of the Tien original attacks, that we only got to see back in Dragon Ball. Also, Tien is someone who trained under 2 of the best Martial Arts masters in Earth, they have difference in ideologies, but even Shen’s techniques are brutal. So, this is going to be a good place to learn martial arts. I don’t know about how anyone feels about this, but I would love it very much if Goten and Trunks actually trains here under Tien sometimes in the future. To sharpen their martial arts, that would not only bring back memories from Dragon Ball, but also make Tien a valuable character, which he certainly deserves to be.

I think the beautiful ‘ Yurin ‘ girl could lunch, who disappeared after Dragon Ball. Toriyama has admited that he completely forgot about her. We know she had a crush on Tien, so they might be trying to set them up. Tien has been like training forever non-stop, so they need to dumb him down with a marriage otherwise they have a hard time describing why Tien is not as strong as he logically should be. Well, Tien and Yamcha are the only singles at this point right?  Unless there’s something weird going on between Yamcha and Puar or Tien and Chiatzuo.. Just Kidding.
Anyways, it looks like Episode 89-90 will cover the part of including Master Roshi and Tien in the tournament. They might spar with Goku during this too.
I like the plot outlines of these episodes, but if I get serious the only problem that I find is that they are not training hard enough, and are not organized enough. Of course the fact, that Goku and Gohan is hiding the real motive annoys me; As dangerous situation bring the best out of them. They might be wanting tell everyone at the same time, but couldn’t they be swifter just instant transmit and gather all the fighters at Dende’s place. Goku is flying from one place to another, it’s like he wants to waste time. I hope they will get that sorted out soon.  I guess the Tournament will start by the end of May most probably.
