Dragon Ball Super Episode 87 didn’t have too much going on, thanks to the spoilers we pretty much knew the basic outline of this episode, and we could also guess what’s going to happen. Regardless, it was fun to watch, and I am going to share my top 3 favorite moments of this episode, feel free to share yours down below in the comments section.
Number 3- Android 17’s attempts to sacrifice!
So, after the galactic poachers abducted all the wild animals. He was threatening to self-explode, and destroy the ship along with the animals, but these animals mean everything to 17 so he couldn’t let that happen. Sudden plan, 17 decides to sacrifice himself taking the leader of the poacher group outside the ship, while he holds him off. Of course, 17 didn’t have to sacrifice himself, for the way things went, and most probably he would survive that explosion anyway, but this tells us a lot about 17, and the person he has become over the years. The Poacher was mocking 17 about why he’s going through so much trouble just to protect animals, and 17 shows exactly how much he cares by risking his life for the animals.
This also falls in line with a classic pattern of Dragon Ball, especially for evil turned good guys. You can take Piccolo for an example, from wanting to kill Goku to sacrificing his life to save Gohan. Vegeta on the other hand also had a heroic sacrificing moment in the Buu saga. So, this tells us that DBS is considering 17 with importance and that he might play a major role in the future stories. We’ll talk more about that on the no.1 moment.
Number 2- King Kai’s Planet- Goku’s Favorite Bomb Disposal Unit
This scene had me rolling, made the episode worth it for me. I totally cracked up especially when Goku was explaining it all, I just don’t even know why I laughed out loud so hard. Goku literally said I brought him here like I did with Cell, Hell Yeah you did dude. You are a legendary savage man; our world needs more people like you. This was so much like Kid Goku from Dragon Ball, the way Goku explained it was the best part of it. Any ‘ The Office’ TV series fans here? You know how it felt? It’s like when Kevin does something stupid and makes it funnier by many folds by explaining the obvious. Even though we only had 87 DBS episodes till now, I already feel like Dragon Ball Super is funnier than DBZ. This is one sector DBS is really doing well, and being true to their roots.
Number 1- Android 17 Now A Part of The Badass Team
Now, this a small moment. I bet not too many would put this on the no.1 position. It’s when no.17 says it’s kind of strange how he was modified to kill Goku, and now he is going to fight with him, and all that. He still kinds of feel weird. So, Goku assures how that’s very common for the squad, as almost all the major allies started out as enemies. Then, we get this cool shot showing Tien, Piccolo, and Vegeta. Just in case, you didn’t know or remember Tien was also an enemy, he was a mercenary, and wanted to kill Goku, but later he became one of the most valuable Z warriors, and Episode 89 is going to be about Tien. So, Tien fans can get hyped up!
So, with this 17 officially joins the ‘ I wanted to kill Goku, but we friends now’ club. Meaning he will remain as a major character from here onwards. I was never a big fan of 17 previously, but I am really enjoying his personality and powers in Super, and hope to see more cool stuff from him in the battle royal!
Now, there’s one more thing that I want to point out. When 17 was calling Goku a savior, he said that “I’ve never really been aware of saving it. I have come this far wantin’ to fight strong guys. But I can’t stand innocent people and animals getting destroyed.”
So for some unknown reason, DBS and Goku haters always ignore that part about animals and people. Of course, Goku is not your typical Superhero with Cape and masks, and this could be taken as his humble way of seeing what he does. Granted Goku loves to fight strong guys, it’s like he is addicted to it, but it doesn’t mean he has no interests in protecting people, and the earth as a whole. In a matter of fact, Goku seems to be more considerate than the typically worshiped heroes. He always tries to take the fights away from cities or civilization. So that no one gets hurt. He has sacrificed himself multiple times to protect Earth and its people. You are totally retarded, and you should be ashamed of yourself if you still say shits like Goku only cares about fighting after knowing all that.
After Episode 87, I actually saw on Facebook and other social media platform people are sharing screenshots the part where Goku said ‘he has not been aware of it, and wants to fight strong guys… ‘, but they willingly left out that part about people and animals. Taking it out of context and misinforming the fans. It really amazes me, what kind of lifeless retard one has to be to, watch every single episode of DBS, to do shits like that. I mean if you don’t like a series, you don’t watch, but no these people will watch it every single episode, and bitch every single time. Their hatred is so real they take screenshots out of context and manipulates it only for trolling. Wow! There should be some scientific research about how their psychologies work, and why they are the way they are.
Anyway, leaving that behind, The next episode is going to be about the intense training session of Piccolo and Gohan. They have trained before in super, but it wasn’t as intense. So, the hype is real.
